Welcome to Chennai
On arrival at Chennai International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by TakeMe2India tour leader and transferred to your accommodation. Depending upon your arrival time, there might be time for a welcome dinner. Wake-up late and have a relaxed break-fast at the hotel. Today is pretty light, giving you the opportunity to recuperate from the jetlag. You will be free during the first half of the day. Optional activity could be a walk to a nearby bazaar where you will find a lot of roadside shops. After our lunch (Andhra Pradesh cuisine) we will visit The Kirk, an 18th century Scottish church, which is the home for one of the oldest pipe organs. We will go to Marina Beach, which is the second longest in the world. Early morning start. Get ready by 8 am tovisit the Kapaleeshwarar Temple and San Thome Basilica. Your lunch will be a Tamil Nadu / Madras meals.Tonight is your first cooking demo. Wasim Moideen is a local food connoisseur, who writes blogs on www.chennaifoodie.com. He will cook you a fine local menu later in the afternoon. But wait! Before we go to his place, we would be shopping for ingredients at local shops. You can give him a hand with the preparation. You will have your dinner with him
Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry - Veppathur
We will check out after an early breakfast and head to Mahabalipuram. En route, we will stop at DakshinaChitra a museum dedicated to South Indian heritage and culture. We will have our lunch at a seafood restaurant called Moonrakers.We will then explore the open air sculptures in Mahabalipuram aka Mamallapuram, which date back to 700AD. We have a great evening planned for you, complete with Tamil Nadu folk arts performance, followed by dinner.Early morning start for us to Pondicherry aka Puducherry, the former French colony. Gear up for the cycle rickshaw tour of the city after your breakfast. We then visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram and have our lunch at a French Café called Bakers Street (own expense). We check in at our accommodation for a relaxed evening by the seaside. Dinner is at your own expense tonight. Check-out after breakfast and head to the next destination. After an hour of journey, we will reach the resort. Check-in and get ready for a bullock cart ride through the villages. Upon return, you will get to see a cooking demo of your dinner. If you are not keen, feel free to take a dip in the swimming pool
Veppathur - Tanjore - Madurai - Munnar
Go for a village walk. Post lunch, you will get to see a pottery demo; go on; you can dirty your hands! After the evening coffee, warm-up for a game of Uri Adi. You need to leave immediately after an early breakfast to visit the Brihadeeswarar Temple. It is an important example of Tamil architecture achieved during the Chola dynasty. It is one of the largest temples in India and one of India's most prized architectural sites. We then head to Madurai, check-in and relax. After an early breakfast, we visit the famous Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple for a guided tour. Post lunch,we start our drive to Munnar, a hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, is set within rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the 19th century.

We will visit Tata Tea Museum. Afternoon, we will wander into the Munnar vegetable market to see a variety of exotic local veggies and fruits. If you are interested, you can go for an elephant safari (own expense). We will have a picnic lunch today. You will get to see your dinner cooking demo by the host at your accommodation by 7 pm.
Munnar - Allappey
Check-out after the breakfast and head to a different landscape of Kerala. You will be staying by / floating in the backwater for the next couple of days. Check-in to the gorgeous Punnamada Resorts. It conveniently lies by the backwaters by Vembanad Lake. The design of the resort is such that water from the lake touches every single cottage! Relax after the lunch / snack (own expenses) and get ready for the complimentary sunset cruise. You can have your own lunch from the ala carte menu tonight.
Cooking Demo in Allappey
Wake up early for a complimentary Yoga session. Or wake-up late, enjoy your breakfast and get ready for your lunch cruise on one of the luxurious houseboats! Lunch is made fresh on board for you. We will stop in one of the villages dotting the lake shore, where you can go for an exploratory walk. You may relax or go for a sunset cruise. Tonight the resident chef will show you a demo of authentic Kerala food for you, which you will have for your dinner.
Allappey - Kochi
we are heading to Kochi aka Cochin. Visit the Kerala Folklore museum first and then check-in to the lodge. Visit the Paradesi Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. Let’s walk to grab our lunch at Kashi Art Gallery & Restaurant (own expense, European cuisine) and walk around the local market. You need to get into our vehicle and head to the Greenix village to watch the Kathakali show. Check-out after a hearty breakfast. You will be transferred from the Hotel to Kochi International Airport. We will bid farewell to you.
